The Adams is such an important fly to have in a box of dry flies. A classic pattern that works just as well as the day it was first introduced. It imitates mayflies primarily and is one of the best flies for fishing in the spring and summer. It’s light and floats well which makes it easier to create a realistic dead drift. There are lots of anglers out there who only fish Adams for their dry flies, which is a testament to how well it works. If you could only have one fly in your box, the Adams would be one of the best flies to have.
