The Letort Hopper is a top fly pattern for imitating grasshoppers all around the country. Created by Ed Shenk for fishing around Pennsylvania way back in 1960. It’s a classic fly that has been around a long time but still works better than many other hopper patterns. The tan and yellow colors imitate the most common grasshoppers which is found around rivers everywhere during spring and summer. Include these in your terrestrial box, and you’ll be on your way to a great day of fishing. It’s important to have a few large ones and some small guys too.
