The Sulphur Spinner is a great fishing fly for imitating spent mayflies on big rivers and small creeks. These flies land nicely on the water and make for an easy and realistic dead drift with minimal effort. As long as you make it to the river during the afternoon with some light tippet, you’ll most likely be catching trout on these flies. A simple yet effective strategy is to approach the river very patiently walking up stream. Cast these flies out near seams and rocks, and get ready to set the hook. A mixed dozen of these will be all you need for the season.
