The Humpy floats as good as a pool noodle and still looks like an insect to trout. When the water is fast and you need visibility the Humpy is there for you. Attach a heavy nymph below and it still floats. Dry dropper setups are great with this fly and are a guide favorite year-round for pocket waters. It can also serve as a lead/attractor fly for a double-dry setup during the hatch of caddis and mayflies. Try it out in a few different colors to see which works best for you.
