The Tan Spinner is a great fly for casting into rivers and streams during the warmer months. It imitates a mayfly that has fallen into the water which happens in abundance. Trout key in on spinners like this and will often eat them without hesitation in the afternoon. They are best when fished with light tippet and a bit of floatant. A few different colors of spinners are essential in any dry fly box and the tan color is all-around a great choice.
